Other than a missed marking assignment, North Farmington played one of its most complete games of the season, winning 5-1 over Farmington Hills Mercy.
Raider goals were scored by scored by Haley Collin, Karlie Cummins, Olivia Elby, Abby Hegarty, and Gabriela Sgambati. Assists went to Lindsay Crawley, Cummins (2), Emily Petrovski and Sgambati.
The Raiders move to 13-4 on the season with one game to play. Playing particularly strong on this evening were Sydney Cohn, Lindsay Crawley, Cummins, Hegarty, Beth Wood, and Carina Wright. There were other standouts as well. Olivia Elby played even though she was sick and did a nice job.
Defensively, we were as strong as usual, again, except for one play. Alexis Cohn, Sydney Cohn, Jacq Farquhar, Hegarty, Arti Vaishnav and Wood all took turns in the back shutting down Mercy’s attack.
Others came in to be new waves of contributors, like Collin, Lynn Lerner and Alyssa Roberson. A recent increase in offensive play from the midfield has also bolstered our ability to score. Though they have been strong all season, Sam Randel and Sgambati have started to make smarter runs and passes, and they always work hard. Add to them captain Tyler Hammaren, and we truly have a complete lineup.
Patil Tcholakian played well in goal, though she had little chance to stop a Mercy player left open in the box.
