Game Recap

The Raiders moved to 2-1 after defeating Ann Arbor Pioneer 2-1. Alexis Cohn scored from 30 yards on a free kick. Olivia Elby scored the winning goal following up on a cross by Carina Wright. Sydney Cohn set up the play with a nice through ball to Wright.

Standout players for the Raiders include midfielders Karlie Cummins, Abby Hegarty, Sam Randel, and Gabriella Sgambati. Our defense was strong again, with one small lapse. Key in the back were Erin Bahm, Alexis Cohn, Sydney Cohn and Arti Vaishnav. Beth Wood played multiple positions and was solid in each of them. Patil Tcholakian had another strong game in net, stopping many Pioneer opportunities before they could develop. Up front, Elby, Wright and Haley Collin were able to generate many quality chances.

North goes into the break with a strong start against three good teams. After returning, we start almost immediately with OAA Red Division games.

Game Recap

It was a hard fought contest, and the Raiders had many opportunities to tie or go ahead in this game but just could not find the net, falling 2-1 to Walled Lake Northern.

Karlie Cummins converted a penalty kick after Carina Wright earned a foul in the box. The Raiders started slowly but picked it up late in the first and into the second half, creating many quality chances.

Key performers in this game were the Raiders defenders, Erin Bahm, Alexis Cohn, Jacq Faquhar, Beth Wood and Arti Vaishnav. Patil Tcholakian made some key saves to keep the Raiders in the hunt for a victory. Cummins, Sydney Cohn and Gabby Sgambati battled especially hard in the midfield, and Wright and Olivia Elby were dangerous up front for most of the contest.

These early tough battles are going to serve us well once we move into our division schedule. The Raiders are now 1-1-0.

Game Recap

On a wet cold evening, the Raiders went down by a goal to the Wildcats of Plymouth, but rallied to a 2-1 victory. Karlie Cummins was fouled in the box and converted the penalty. Then, the Raiders controlled much of the second half, finally scoring the winning goal as Abby Hagerty set up Cummins for her second tally.

Overall, we played pretty well in the first half, considering that it was our first game. In the second half, we really started to impose our will, but it was a hard fought contest until the very end. Plymouth has a quality squad.

Standouts for the game included Cummins and Hegarty, Gabriella Sgambati, Sydney Cohn, Sam Randel and the entire defense, including Erin Bahm, Alexis Cohn, Arti Vaishnav, Bethany Wood and anchored by keeper, Patil Tcholakian.

Warren wrestled Nick Freeman from Walled Lake Central in the finals and lost 5-2.
Warren Stanfield III, All-State, finished 4th at 130 lbs.
